Encaustic, a mixture of beeswax and resin, was used by the Romans to paint sculptures and murals. These works of art are still colorful today. Artists love the look of this ancient art because it has a dreamy, misty quality. It is a unique and fun mixed media to try.
Students will create a 4x4 collage piece using cut outs from magazines, old books etc (students are encouraged to bring their own if they want) wax, stencils and other items to create their own art works in this exciting mix media.
This is an intermediate class for 16+ students. The introduction to encuastic class is strongly recommended but not required. All materials are included in the cost of the class.
The workshop fee is $65.
Registration is required because there are only 5 seats available. If there is great interest another class will be scheduled.
**** Students need to wear closed-toe shoes and old clothing. This is hot wax material. We want all our students to be comfortable and safe.******
The workshop fee needs to be paid before the workshop. Please tell us which workshop you are registering for and your email.
